Development and customer showcases

Space that supports innovation and growth. Plattsville Bakehouse customer showcase.

From kitchen table to commercial success: An entrepreneurial story of how Plattsville Bakehouse is succeeding and growing in the right space and community.

What started as a talented baker, producing lockdown bakes from a home kitchen, has grown into a thriving artisan bakery with a dedicated team and commercial-scale operation. For Plattsville Bakehouse, finding the right space wasn’t just about floorspace, it was about being part of a bigger community, and unlocking the next chapter.

How can we help you?

Business success and operational impact

Scaled-up production: Outgrowing the previous unit, Plattsville now operates with 12 staff in a purpose-built facility that supports commercial-level baking.
Flexibility to grow: The new space eliminates equipment constraints and offers room to expand operations further as demand rises.
Streamlined fulfilment: Improved layout and dedicated space for retail and wholesale orders have boosted efficiency and order turnaround.
Stronger customer reach: With more space and smoother operations, the bakery can now serve both local cafés and online customers at scale.

Employee and community benefits

Rooted in the local community: Plattsville Bakehouse was born during lockdown as a community bake with friends, neighbours and local word of mouth driving early growth. The sense of place and local support continues to shape the bakery’s values and customer base.
Job creation through growth: When Andy first stepped into the new facility, he was running the business solo. Since then, the space has enabled him to build a small but growing team. The facility has unlocked capacity for new roles, allowing Plattsville to grow sustainably while offering opportunities locally.
A better place to work: The move from a home-based setup into a clean, fit-for-purpose commercial bakery has improved working conditions, allowed clearer separation of work/life for the founder, and created a professional environment the team can be proud of.

Sustainability and cost efficiency

Sustainability is core to the business: Plattsville Bakehouse actively considers its environmental footprint across operations. The bakehouse has built its ethos around the sustainable production of bread, from sourcing to process.
Powered by renewable energy: The facility runs entirely on electricity from renewable sources, helping reduce emissions and energy impact. Even their delivery vans run on HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil) which reduces emissions by 90%.
Environmental responsibility at scale: The larger site enables more sustainable production processes, such as bulk ingredient sourcing and energy-efficient baking cycles, helping reduce waste and emissions even as the business grows.

“My favourite part of being here on this site, it’s the sense of community. The breadth of skillset amongst those businesses is fantastic, and we all help each other out, which I think is beautiful.”
